Put your dancing shoes on for a night of lessons at Anglin’s Square

Josie Gulliksen - Thursday, September 17, 2015

Get ready for the return of free Seaside Dance Classes at Anglin’s Square on Oct. 11 with Danny Carter of Dance Moves who is back teaching swing, salsa, dance and ballroom dancing twice a month.

If you’ve always had the desire to learn to dance or perhaps want to improve your skills on one of these particular styles, take advantage of these free bi-monthly classes. They’re held the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 5-7 p.m. and run through April 24, 2016.

“This is the third year of dancing by the sea and we do all styles of dancing each night. What’s even better is you don't need to have a partner,” said Danny Carter. “It’s also a great opportunity to meet local residents and visitors to the town,” he said.

Held in the picturesque Anglin’s Square, the epicenter of the Town of Lauderdale by The Sea, it’s the ideal spot to learn how to glide, hip shake and swing across the dance floor.

Hosting between 50-100 dancers each night, Danny’s passion for teaching dance runs deep. He is an associate of the North American Dance Teacher’s Association and a member of The National Dance Council of America. His goal is to enhance the lives of the folks who take his classes.

“Through Dance Moves I seek to inspire, encourage and create artistic excellence while promoting the therapeutic benefits made possible through dance,” he said.

The classes are open to all ages and to all levels of dancers, from beginner to advanced. Providing the music for all the classes is DJ Samour.

So now’s the time to plan ahead and carve out space on your calendar to come to Anglin’s Square. It’s guaranteed Danny will have you moving like a pro across the dance floor in no time.
