Not enough live music in
The Block Party at Anglin’s Square features plenty of live music with a wide variety to please fans of all types of music. It takes place at Anglin’s Square and is sponsored by Village Grille/Village Pump and 101 Oceans Restaurant.
Held from 6-10:30 p.m., it’s the perfect weekend kick-off and where you can enjoy dinner and drinks while listening to country, rock, R&B and pop music.
Featured performers include Michael Whitehead and The Final Countdown Band, Blue Fire Band, The Wild Cats, Uproot Hootenanny, Mark Zaden & the Weedline Band, White Collar Crime and Mr. Nice Guy, among others.
That’s a heck of a line-up and Alex Lencina, lead singer of Mr. Nice Guy, is happy to be in such good company.
“This is one of our favorite places to play. The entire vibe is perfect, the crowd is amazing and the variety of music is also great. There are some fantastic bands playing here,” Lencina said.
As 12-year veterans of the local live music scene, Mr. Nice Guy loves performing their classic rock show of mainly 1970s hits in front of the crowd of sometimes 1,500 people.
“We’ve been involved with this event since the beginning and we love how it’s grown over the years. It’s great that there’s such a variety of restaurants just a block away. Plus, the pier and the entirely revamped area make for the perfect atmosphere,” he said.
With the ideal weather conditions and relaxed, appealing waterfront view it truly is the perfect way to kick off any weekend.
